The latest medical report on Tuesday said the 88-year-old Holy Father remains in a “critical” but “stable” condition at Rome’s Gemelli hospital, where he has been hospitalized for 13 days.
It was also explained that the “stability” of his condition also refers to the kidney failure that had been diagnosed in recent days, “mild”, “under control” and not causing concern among his doctors.

The pontiff continues to work from his hospital room and continues with oxygen therapy, but with flows that are “slightly reduced” compared to previous days.
In recent days he has signed some appointments and on Monday canonization decrees, such as that of José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros , the first saint of Venezuela, in addition to modifying some laws to give more powers to the first female "governor" of the Vatican City State, Sister Raffaella Petrini .
He also announced the organization of a consistory to set a date for the canonizations, although the date has not been specified.
This announcement brought to mind the consistory, or meeting of cardinals, at which Benedict XVI announced his resignation from the pontificate.
On Monday afternoon, he received at the Gemelli Hospital the Vatican Secretary of State , the Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin , and the Deputy Secretary of State , the Venezuelan Edgar Peña Parra .
Meanwhile, the cardinals, members of the Curia and the faithful who wish to do so will continue to pray the rosary every night in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
